Alex College Station. College Station ranked by Forbes as a top 25 Place to Retire in US

Alex’s Take: We lived 30 miles from College Station before moving to Austin. College Station had everything we wanted or needed from a big city. But it is a lot more. Vibrant University town, lots of shopping, entertainment, dining and venues. The only other Texas City to make the list is San Antonio.

Forbes’ Take: “…Town of 118,000, 85 miles northwest of Houston, that is home to Texas A&M University. PROS: Median home price of $260,000, 21% below national median. Abundant doctors, good air quality, very bikeable. No state income or inheritance tax. Low natural hazards risk. CON: Not very walkable…”
